MRC Ethnic Dinners and More

Multicultural Refugee Coalition invites you to their Ethnic Dinner Series, to share food and conversation regarding the countries that refugees in Austin come from.  These dinners are hosted by MRC Board Members at their homes and are sponsored by Bread for the Journey, Austin.  Tickets are $45 and you can RSVP to info@mrcaustin.org.  More details, along with directions, will be emailed to those interested. The program is as follows:

  • September 29th 6-9pm: the dinner will be hosted by MRC Board President Yubelly Perez and will focus on her native Colombia and on Cuba. Food will be provided by Casa Colombia.
  • October 26th 6-9pm: dinner will be hosted by MRC Board Members Karen Banks and Eric Leversen and the focus will be on Burma.
  • November date is still to be set but it will focus on Bhutan.

MRC's new community center at 1103 Justin Lane is scheduled to open by October 1st with a new schedule of programs several days a week. These include computer classes, a career resource center, sewing lab, children's programs and more.   More details will be available on MRC's new website  www.mrcaustin.org by the end of September.
